Aguilar’s OBP-1 SK is an onboard bass preamp built around boost-only tone shaping. Its discrete all-FET circuit provides up to 18 dB of boost at 40 Hz and 4 kHz, so the installed control can add low- or high-frequency emphasis while retaining the instrument’s inherent sound. A stacked Treble/Bass pot is included, keeping both boost controls at the instrument. The circuit is also designed for high dynamic headroom and low noise.
