Like all of Vai’s pickups the Dark Matter 2 boasts a high-output design for attaining the most sustain and liquid tone from your amplifier. The Dark Matter 2 was specifically designed for use in Steve’s mahogany-bodied Jem guitar. Its top end has been subdued slightly, keeping the tone of the pickup full and round, even when playing on the upper frets. And the pickups’ laser-cut graphics definitely make them stand out at Music Bliss.
