MXR’s M85 is a bass distortion pedal built around blending rather than sacrificing the clean signal. Separate Dry and Wet controls let you set the balance at the pedal, while Distortion determines the amount of drive. Its Tone knob works only on the distorted portion, using a high-cut filter to reduce top end without changing the dry level. Choose SIL for a biting, slightly compressed response or LED for a more open sound with extra gain.
