The 12-inch Silentstroke head gives a drum a mesh playing surface for reduced-volume practice. Remo says the Silentstroke design cuts level by more than 70 percent against a standard single-ply head while retaining a springy response. Its open mesh also allows the drum shell’s own tonality to come through, so it keeps the work on the drum rather than moving practice to a rubber pad. The mesh is described as durable, pliable, tear-resistant, and made for regular practice.
