The 20-inch K Custom Dark Crash puts a clear, quick opening in front of a full voice with darker overtones and a mellow wash. Its attack falls away rapidly, making room for the next phrase after rolls, hits, or crescendos; a hint of trashiness remains in the decaying character. Over-hammering is credited with giving a heavier cymbal the response of a lighter model and greater volume potential. B20 bronze with traditional lathing and hammering completes the construction.
